Planning Ahead with Haddington and Lammermuir Area Partnership

A message from the Haddington and Lammermuir Area Partnership to local residents representing local village halls, community groups and community facilities:

This local consultation exercise is being target at local groups in the Haddington and Lammermuir Area and we would greatly appreciate if you could respond to the consultations below and even attend the workshop or annual public meeting if you are a representative of a local village hall or community facility. It would be great to hear back from as many of you as possible as we want to make sure that the Area Plan is truly reflective of everyone’s needs. If you have any questions then please don’t hesitate to ask.

Thank you,
The Haddington and Lammermuir Local Area Partnership

Haddington and Lammermuir Area Partnership are continuing to develop an Area Plan and want to hear from the people who live and work in the area to help shape this plan. The area plan will detail all of the actions that the community agree will make a difference to their lives. See here for a copy of the current plan. To find out what YOU want in the local area the Area Partnership are carrying out a range of consultation activities over the coming weeks. You can get involved in all of the consultations or just the ones that are most relevant to you.

The consultations are:

A “4 wishes” exercise where you (and any groups you may represent) are being asked to identify the 4 things that would make a difference to your own and the wider communities’ lives. The aim of this exercise is draw out the actions that can be implemented over the longer term of the Area Plan such as how we can make the best use of public facilities and social spaces, and supporting groups and organisations to provide local services. The “wishes” you are being asked for are:

If you had 4 wishes which would improve the Haddington and Lammermuir Area, what would they be?

  • 1 wish for yourself
  • 1 wish for the community
  • 1 wish for your group or organisation
  • 1 wish for our community facilities

COMPLETE THE EXERCISE
This consultation will run until the 30th October 2016.

A “Mapping workshop” at this event there will be big maps of Haddington town and the outlying villages (Gifford, Humbie, East and West Saltoun and Bolton, Garvald and Morham) so that you can physically identify the areas you would like to improve and chat with others about your ideas. The aim of this workshop is to identify actions that can be carried out in the shorter term – i.e. things that can be changed fairly quickly in your community like installing road safety measures, street lighting, and improving green spaces.

This event is taking place on Tuesday 25th October between 7pm and 9pm in Haddington Town House.

Haddington and Lammermuir Area Community Transport Survey. Haddington and Lammermuir Area Partnership would like to try and find out what the needs and demands are for a public transport service and would like you to complete a short survey to give them your views.

COMPLETE THE SURVEY. This consultation will run until the 30th October 2016.

The Haddington and Lammermuir Area Partnership Annual Public Meeting

At this event all of the information, ideas and suggestions gathered from the 4 wishes exercise, the mapping workshop and the rural transport survey will be presented and you will be asked to start prioritising them in to the actions that you think are the most important to be delivered over the short, medium and longer term.

This event is taking place on Tuesday 22nd November between 7.15pm and 9pm in Haddington Town House.

Of course, for any of this to be truly reflective of the community’s desires, we need you (and any groups you represent) to take part. Your support with this is greatly appreciated by the Haddington and Lammermuir Area Partnership. Thanks in advance and if you have any questions or queries in relation to this email you can get in touch using any of the below.
