I Hate Living in the City

    Light, light in the night,
    Why is it so bright?
I hate living in the city.

    It seems at night,
    That its daylight,
    All the street lamps
    And signs are terribly bright,
I hate living in the city.

I feel like it’s the sun
    It’s so bright,
    I’ve said it twice
    And I’ll say it again
I HATE living in the city.

    Beautiful Night

The sky is dark, the moon is out,
The animals are in their slumber.
    The stars are out
The sun is away for the very next day.
The stars are burning with light
Like diamonds sewn across black silk of the night.
The sky is blacker than coal
From the fire beneath the logs in my home.

  • Christmas at the oasis …

Thanks to those of you who have pointed out the howling spelling mistake on this year’s Christmas Dinner invite. The perils of checking the spell checker rather than checking the spelling … For the avoidance of doubt, we’re looking for offers of salad or dessert. Sand, camels or anything else desert related would be accepted but not necessarily used on the night!

Keep the acceptances coming. The sooner the better as it helps the catering team plan in advance. And if you’ve lost the offending bit of paper, it can be found on a previous blog post.

  • Garvald Kids Go Guising – Saturday 31st October

    guising
    Saturday 31st October 2015, 6pm-7.30pm

Meet at the hall – guising – back to hall for games and divvying up the loot…

Please don’t abandon your children! All primary school children must be accompanied by an adult.

If you are new to the village, the Garvald tradition is for the children to go guising together in two or three groups (with grown-ups in tow). We then go back to the hall for apple dooking, donuts on a string etc while sweets are divvied up and shared (to the delight of the smallest who usually profit with a bigger bag!).
Please let us know via the contact form below, or make it obvious on the night, if you do not wish to be disturbed!
