Meeting about Diamond Jubilee: 7pm on 19/4/12
The next meeting about Diamond Jubilee celebrations in Garvald and Morham will happen in Garvald Village Hall at 7pm on Thursday 19th April. Thanks to GMCC, we have a budget to spend on the festivities. So all we need now are bright ideas and willing volunteers. As such, it would be great to see representatives from both villages there, and the outlying farms and cottages. If you cant make it, but want to be involved, drop us a line here. Save the date: Friday 18th May
On Friday 18th May, Rosamunde Robertson will give a talk in the Village Hall about her recent experiences in Palestine as an International Checkpoint Observer. We don’t know the exact event timings right now, so please watch this space for updates …
If you’re interested, Rosamunde will also be speaking at Garvald Church this weekend, at the Palm Sunday service.

Diamond Jubilee Celebration: Sunday 3rd June
Many thanks to all those who attended the Diamond Jubilee brainstorming session in the Hall this morning. The upshot is that there will be an event in the village, most probably around lunchtime on Sunday 3rd June. We will keep you up to speed with plans here, so keep watching this space. Garvald Village Show
The 61st Flower Show is to be held on Saturday 25th August. Schedules will be available to download from this website in late spring. The handicrafts section is unchanged but the classes for photography have a new look. To give you notice of what to focus on, the classes are as follows:

Celebrating the Diamond Jubilee?
This year is Diamond Jubilee year. And in order to explore how best to celebrate, there will be a brainstorming meeting in the village hall on Saturday 24th March at 11am. If you have any bright ideas, please do come along. There will be coffee and biscuits! If you can’t make it, but still want to get involved, let Caroline, Shirley or Katy know. Here’s (very) advance notice of some upcoming Village Hall events …
The Plant Sale will be on Sunday 29th April – so please plant a few extra seeds so that you’ve seedlings to donate!
And the Jumble Sale will be on Sunday 24th June – so please keep us in mind when you commence that spring clean!
There are also plans afoot for some sort of Diamond Jubilee festivities in early June, so please keep watching this space!
