Chimney sweeps
Good chimney sweeps are hard to come by and there’s been a couple of recent website queries about finding one.
Freda Crosbie is booking a chimney sweep from Edinburgh (possibly coming over on Fridaday). If you would also like your chimney swept, get in touch here and we will forward your details so she can arrange a multiple booking. Cost is £50.
Alternatively, if you can recommend another good, local chimney sweep please let us know their details and we will post a list on the website.

2013-14 100 Club …
By now, all (greater) Garvald residents should have received a paper application form for the 2013-14 100 Club. If you are interested in joining in, and helping to raise much needed funds for the Hall, please fill in and return along with payment – either cash or a cheque made payable to Garvald Village Hall Trust. Both Hazel Clark and Katy Mowat are collecting, so drop off at 6 Burnside Court or post into the black box on the gate at The Rowans as soon as you can. The first monthly draw will take place in early October, and the grand £100 draw will be at the Christmas Fair on Sunday 1st December. You’ve got to be in it to win it, remember!

Gallery update
Some new photos have been added to the Garvald Website Gallery, including pictures of some of the 2013 Flower Show exhibits and photographs taken before and after the trees behind the park were felled. When you go to the Gallery page you’ll see thumbnail pictures of each album. Click on an album to see the photos – they will appear lower down on the same page.

Garvald Runners …
Did you know that there is a group of runners who meet outside Garvald pub every Sunday morning at 8 am to go for a 30-40 minute run?We come in various shapes, sizes and levels of fitness. Since we started, several months ago, we have worked our way up from a walking/running start to nearly-all-running! We would love for more people to join us so are planning a social get-together in Garvald pub this Saturday night, 28th September, at 8 pm. Please join us if you’re at all interested (or even if you just fancy a night at the pub – that’s how we started!) Alternatively, meet us outside the pub on Sunday morning …Some of our group also run at other times throughout the week so you even if you can’t manage Sunday mornings you might be able to find a running partner for another time. Speak to Caroline McGregor for more information, or drop us a line. -
