  • Over one thousand pounds raised at the Red Cross concert!

    A message from Anne Raitt:

Thank you so much for all your support at our Concert on Saturday. It was wonderful to see so many of you at the show and with such support and enormous generosity from the whole community, the children of Garvald raised a fantastic total of £1,120, which will go to the Red Cross in order to help children affected by the Syrian crisis.

I’d like to thank the wonderful audience, those who gave their time to help prepare for the show and all those who donated money, wine and food. Also thanks to the parents, for entrusting me with their children, encouraging them and rehearsing with them. Most of all I want to thank the talented children of Garvald for overcoming their fears and performing in such a professional and entertaining way.

    Thank you!

  • Christmas Fair: a vote of thanks …

Many thanks to all those who supported the Christmas Fair on Sunday. It was a delightful event, a fitting end to Garvald’s”big weekend!” All in all,  some £440 was raised for Hall coffers – almost double the financial result from last year. Thank-you, thank-you,  thank-you very much!

  • One Sleep Till Santa!

    Remember, it’s Garvald’s big weekend.

This evening, the children take centre stage with their concert in aid of the Red Cross Syrian appeal. 6pm in the Church, and afterwards in the Stables. Please chap Anne Raitt’s door if you haven’t got your tickets yet.

Tonight, it’s St Andrew’s Night in the Pub – with local fayre and folk music.

And tomorrow, the festive season gets properly under way with the Christmas Fair in the Hall. There’ll be craft stalls, as well as something yummy for lunch and Santa is coming along too. 12 till 3pm – but a little secret, best to be there around 1pm if you want to see the big beardie man!!!
