A message from Anne Raitt:
The children in the village are all very brilliant and have worked so hard for the coming concert in Garvald Church (6pm this Saturday). It’s a busy time of year and most things are left to the last minute BUT I wonder if those of you who’d like to come to the performance will make contact soon to book your tickets. We’d like an idea of the numbers; not wishing to run out of wine or nibbles in the Stables afterwards! Please let me know via the Contact Us form or come and see me at Honeysuckle Cottage.
Thank you!
Anne
As you know, it is the Christmas Fair on Sunday – a wonderful opportunity to browse for and buy lovely presents, as well as eat yummy home baked cakes! Between now and then though, the Hall has to be transformed – the hefty trestles lugged about, the stacked chairs moved etc. Could anyone lend strong arms? They really would be appreciated. If you can, please head Hall-ward at 10am on Saturday morning. We promise you won’t be detained for too long…
There seems to be so much going on in the village at the moment. It almost feels unfair to hassle you all some more. But … Could we please have RSVPs for the Nunraw Dinner by the end of this week please? The catering team need a firm idea of numbers before they start peeling spuds and boiling sprouts. (Okay, the sprouts are a joke …) Thanking-you!
It’s that time of year again… Christmas is coming, so why not do some gift shopping at the Garvald Christmas Fair on Sunday 1st December in the Village Hall, 12 till 3pm. You’ll find a wide variety of crafts and gifts including patchwork, bags, soft toys, handbags, scarves, prints, bric-a-brac, jewellery and home baking. This year, for the first time, Clan Cushions will be here. Plus Phoenix Cards, Fairtrade/Tearcraft gifts, Save the Children and the Haddington Pipe Band are all back again!
Santa will be coming at 1.00pm and there will be a Raffle with a wonderful Christmas hamper up for grabs. If you need stamps for your Christmas cards, Post Office services will be available, too.
When you’ve done your shopping, relax with hot soup or some of our delicious home baking and catch up with your friends!
Come and find some Christmas cheer in Garvald on December 1st – see you there!
Still a bit short of replies for the Nunraw Xmas Dinner. Surely the whole village isn’t double booked?! If you want to come, can you let us know please? Pop your forms etc into the letter box on the gate at The Rowans. Many many thanks …
Councillor Tom Trotter hold his surgeries in Garvald Village Hall once a month on a Saturday, 10.30-11am. Dates for 2014 are listed on the GMCC page.
