George Kerevan MP will be holding an Advice Surgery in Garvald Village Hall on Tuesday 29 March from 1.30 to 2.00pm. Do come along if you have anything you would like to discuss with him.

A date for your diaries…

Staff from the John Grey Centre’s Archive and Local History Team are running an event on Thursday 14 Apr from 7.00 till 8.30pm. Join them as they take you on a visual tour of Garvald’s history. A fun and informal presentation followed by tea and cake and a chance to share your memories of the village. Perhaps you have some items or images you would like to share? Please bring them along.

Garvald & Morham Community Council are keen to support up and coming Non Olympians in any small way that we can – this support is accessed through the Wind Farm Fund and allocated by the Community Council.

We’d love to help our community in their hobbies and sporting endeavours. It could be a special pair of rugby /football boots, running shoes, musical instruments – anything that any individual thinks would benefit their cause – not necessarily anything sporty.

We would welcome applications by completing the form available on the GMCC webpage. Our next meeting is on the 4th April so get busy and see what you can think of.

FUNDRAISING ART AUCTION & EXHIBITION for Yester Primary School. Friday 11th March, 6.30-8.30pm. Come and enjoy a glass of wine, some canapés and live music. Tickets cost £4, available from Bonnie Vintage, Yester Primary School and the Peter Potter Gallery. All Welcome (adults only).

An information session on electric cars will be held in Gifford on 19th March. Ross Milligan from Gifford will be doing the presentation and tea/coffee and electric car test-drives will be available…

Hi there this is East Lothian Aid for Refugees here, we just wanted to say a huge thank you for the money you raised for our organisation over the Christmas period doing your Carol singing and Hogmanay party. It will make a huge difference to the refugees.
We have just come back from a trip to Calais, there we met the builders that will be helping us to give the stoves to the right people and help us to build them into their tents and structures. We also distributed 1.5 tons of aid into the camp and helped the warehouse sort all the donations. We will keep you updated on how the next trip and how it goes with the stoves.

Hi folks and a happy new year!  I wanted to let you know about a guided hike I am doing in the Garvald/Morham area on Sunday 31^st January from 10am.  I have attached the leaflet with more details of the walk: Ranger_Hikes_leaflet_2015_2016 (see page 2)  It costs £4 and you would need to book a place in advance.  It is a long 9 mile walk on uneven terrain, so unfortunately unsuitable for little ones. Do spread the word to anyone local who might like to come along.
