Plans are firmly afoot. A band is pretty much organised. And we’re just about to start peeling all those spuds for the stovies … Keep one eye here over the coming days, and all will be revealed. Garvald, you will go to the ball!

  • Village Christmas Dinner: Thursday 6th December 2012

By now, you should have received your invitation to the annual village Christmas Dinner. As usual, this will be held up at Nunraw Guest House – thank-you to Father Mark and the Community for giving us permission. Tickets cost £5, and all adult residents of the parish are invited. To make sure of a fittingly festive spread, each household is requested to bring along a simple salad or cold desert. The catering team will see to the hot food – soup, turkey and trimmings with Christmas pud to finish …

If you would like to come along, please let Katy Mowat know. Either return the tear off strip at the base of the invite, or drop her a line with your name, contact details, and the number in your party. Don’t forget to include cash as payment as well. There are now no letterboxes in the doors at The Rowans, so please post into the locked black box on the gate. Many thanks in advance!

  • If you’re wondering how to while away some of these dark, dank, depressing winter evenings …

Why not try dance fitness on Monday nights? Local instructor Amanda hosts an hour-ish long Zumba class in the Hall from 7pm. It’s salsa based, so there is lots of latin music to get you moving. And guaranteed to burn the calories, but in a fun way – honest! If you’ve been wondering how you’re going to fit into that gorgeous body-con LBD for the Christmas party season, this might just be the answer … The session price is £5 for adults and £4 for youngsters. And all you need is comfy clothes and trainers. Hopefully see more of you there!

  • There’s something strange, in the neighbourhood …

A reminder.  Organized guising on the big day tomorrow, Wednesday 31st October. Meet at 6pm in the village hall. And dress as spookily as you dare …
