  • £150 raised for Children In Need by Steph McMullan

A message from Steph McMullan of Kirkbrae, Garvald:

Thank you to all who sponsored me for my Children In Need charity walk from North Berwick to Edinburgh. With your help I managed to raise £150.00 and together with my other walking companions we raised £1000.00. My company matched this so we made a grand total of £2000.00. I have attached some photos from the walk.

    Thanks again.

    Steph

  • CalAid donations

Kathleen Harrison is organising a trip into Edinburgh next Thursday evening (10th) to take donated items to the Edinburgh drop off point for CalAid. She is hoping to fill the car with donations, so please have a look at the list of items required on the CalAid Edinburgh’s Facebook Page and if you can donate any items from the list, drop them off at 1 Council Houses, Garvald before Thursday 10th September.

Please make sure you consult the list first as, due to limited space, CalAid are collecting SPECIFIC items required right now and they cannot store anything excess to requirements. The list is here:
    https://www.facebook.com/groups/981800578506910/permalink/989868897700078/

CalAid are a group of volunteers collecting urgently needed donations for those living in the Calais refugee camps. The situation in Calais is part of a wider migration crisis in Europe – caused largely by the displacement of people from war-torn countries such as Syria, Sudan, Afghanistan and Eritrea. In addition to offering support and assistance, CalAid hope to change the perception of this crisis from one of hostility and fear to one of concern and compassion.

    Thank you for your support.

  • Flower Show Thanks

Thank you to everyone who helped set up, worked during the show, served the teas, baked cakes, grew and hand-made and produced exhibits, encouraged their children to take part, brought their pets, tidied up afterwards and to all those who came along just to join in and enjoy the Flower Show. The results can be downloaded from the GHS page and some photos will be added to the gallery later this week. Well done to all category winners and the trophy winners. We hope to see you again next year. And if you enjoyed the show, you are welcome to come to the AGM in October or why not offer your assistance for next year’s show.
    Thank you for your support.
