  • Christmas and New Year

Many thanks to all those who came along to last night’s Christmas Dinner. It was so nice to see so many of you (wearing novelty jumpers) and the hubbub suggested a good time was being had…

Next up is the Ceilidh at Hogmanay from 8pm till midnight in the Village Hall. There will be live music from the ‘Jaggy Nettles’ and supper will be provided. B.Y.O.B.

    ADULTS – £10, Children over seven – £5, Younger ones – Free.
    Tickets available from Shirley (830270).

  • New stage curtains in village hall

There are now new curtains on the stage in the village hall. These have been funded by way of the 100 Club surplus, so thank-you to everyone who has paid their dues over the last year.

So to keep them clean, and everyone safe, we have a request:

Can nobody of any age go on the stage (either through the door or from the front) without prior arrangement with a committee member?

    Many thanks in advance.

  • Garvald Greetings Cards

“Garvald Greetings Cards” are available from Hazel at 6 Burnside Court. They cost £1 each, and are sold in aid of Hall Funds. There is no message inside, and they are easily adapted to use as a Christmas card for friends at a distance or for those who have Garvald connections.

Just to let you know that the Children’s Christmas Party will be at Garvald Village Hall on Friday 19th December from 3.00pm till 5.00pm. All Garvald and Morham children are welcome. Santa will be visiting, too.

  • 1st December – the countdown to Christmas…

    Santa’s coming to Garvald.
I know he came last year,
And he sent a message saying
He’ll be back again, don’t fear.

    His message was delivered
    By a special Christmas Elf.
    Well, we cannot expect him
    To deliver it himself!

    He has a busy evening,
    Like every Christmas Eve.
He won’t have time to linger,
He’ll bring our gifts, then leave.

    He’s coming to the village
    Because the girls and boys,
    Well known for good behaviour,
    Deserve to get some toys.

He’ll fly in with his reindeer,
    He’ll ride upon his sleigh.
    He’ll sprinkle Christmas magic
As he travels on his way.

    Santa’s coming to Garvald.
    He’ll come on Christmas Eve.
    Let him know he’s welcome
    By shouting “I Believe!”
