Tom MacGill, who lived at Whitelaws in Garvald for many years, died recently. He was in his ninetieth year.
A funeral service will be held at Seafield Crematorium on Friday 4th December at 12 noon. And it will be followed by a service of thanksgiving in Garvald Church from 3.30pm.
Yester Primary’s Christmas Fayre is this Thursday from 6.30pm to 8.30pm. Why not pop along. There will be lots of stalls – perfect for some Christmas shopping!
Local resident Sylvia Murray is running her Winter Upholstery Workshops on Tuesday 1st and Thursday 3rd of December (with the possibility of an additional one on Wednesday 2nd, depending on demand). This time they’ll be taking place in the Poldrate Arts & Craft Centre in Haddington and will run from 10am till 4pm. The cost is £50 for the day. Why is it so bright?
I hate living in the city.

All the street lamps
And signs are terribly bright,

Congratulations to the winners of the Garvald Children’s Poetry Competition. What a wonderful variety of poems we had this year, all on the theme ‘Light’. You can read the winning poems on the Poetry Competition 2015 page.
