Gifford Cubs Supported by GMCC

Gifford Cubs, who comprise children from the wider Yester catchment, recently benefited from some funding from the GMCC to access watersports trips to the Whiteadder Watersports Centre. Gifford Cubs Leaders have recently expressed their thanks for the support and sent these photos.

As well as having fun, an ongoing relationship has now been established between Gifford Cubs and Whiteadder Watersports Centre and some Cubs parents have also gone on to use the centre for their own activities.

    ‘Thank You!’ to the GMCC

Huge thank you to the ‘outgoing’ Community Council who held their last meeting of this period in the sunny Orchard of Garvald Village Hall on Monday.

All members are encouraged to seek re-election so this may not be their last ever but it’s a good moment to extend our gratitude to these volunteers who give time and energy on all our behalf.

Thanks to Phillip, Anna, Ian, Ian and Hazel.

    GMCC Seeks New Members

Garvald and Morham Community Council seeks new voices / members of our community to represent us all and help make all our lives better:

    – meet with ELC elected Councillors on a regular basis to raise questions specific to our area

    – local Police and Council Officers invited to join meetings as needed

    – help with local response to county-wide plans and priorities

We are also lucky to manage the application process of a substantial annual funding pot from the Community Windfarm. The Community Council seeks to encourage local projects that would benefit our community.

    Applications open on 30th August.
