These documents are now laid out in Garvald Church which is open every day, and available for any member of the public to scrutinise. They will be available there for the next 30 days
Haddington Community Choir Performance – Saturday 2nd December
The Haddington Community Choir will put on their fourth performance in St. Mary’s Church in Haddington, this Saturday, 2nd December between 5-6pm.
Admission is free! Donations collected for Keep the Heid Haddington.

Garvald and Morham Children’s Christmas Party!
Saturday 9th December 2023, 2-4pm, Garvald Village Hall
All the children of Garvald and Morham are warmly invited to join us for a Christmas Ceilidh! There will be a half hour break from dancing at 2:45pm for party food and a visit from someone special – listen out for sleigh bells!
Parents and carers, please stay with your children and bring:
- a small wrapped present per child with their name on (keep it hidden and bring to the hall kitchen when you arrive!), suggested £5-10 price range
- a plate of food to share

Garvald and Morham Community Ladies’ Supper – Friday 1st December
The next Ladies’ Supper will be on Friday 1st December at 7pm in the Garvald Stables. Festive Dress-up! We would love to see some of our neighbours from the wider community come along, too!

Low Carbon Rural Communities Partnership
GMCC and a group of local volunteers have been working with Changeworks and Home Energy Scotland on a project which aims to help residents of rural areas access assitance towards becoming ‘Low Carbon Communities’.
We are hoping to hold a ‘Meet the Expert’ event early next year which could offer advice on everything from struggling with fuel bills; to making your home warmer and more efficient; to top tips to save energy in the home; to installing renewable technologies. This advice covers renter, landlords and owner-occupier accomodation plus small businesses. There is also quite a bit of financial and practical support available for these.
We will also be sharing information on a variety of these topics over the coming months, through this site and the Facebook channels.
Please watch out for the registration of interest survey too which wll help us know which experts to bring along.

To get the most from this offer, we need a few more people to help set this up, share information, collect and generate ideas, or help at the event. Please let us know on the contact form if you would like to get involved.
There is also the opportunity for one or two local volunteers to receive free training on how to give basic energy advice and signpost the practical and financial support available which will help us all after the event.
This project has been fully funded and we are so lucky to have been chosen as one of the first communities to participate.
PUBlic Philosophy Evening – Thursday 18th January at 8pm – Garvald Inn
The next PUBlic Philosophy event will be on Thursday 18th January from 8-10pm in the Garvald Inn. Professor Amalia Amaya Navarro and Dr. Nick Treanor will lead discussions about jurisprudential virtue and the biggest thing you’ve ever seen.
