The annual summer Church Garden Party will take place in the Manse garden, Gifford ( just at the  end of Tweeddale Avenue) on Saturday 30th May at 2 pm. Everyone is very welcome to join the fun.

On Saturday 20th June we will have a real bike expert from Dunbar Bike Hub in the village to help us sort out any mechanical problems before we take to the road.

Come along to the village hall at 2 pm, bring your bike and learn how to do some basic maintenance.

Ice-cream cones will be for sale and we’re hoping to muster as many cyclists as we can for a mass ride along the Champs Elysees of Garvald at 4 pm.

This Friday 8th May, “The Outrun” will be shown in Gifford Village Hall.

Saoirse Ronan stars as a woman who returns home to Orkney after her life in London begins to unravel. Doors open at 7.30pm, film starts at 8pm

There are still a couple of spaces for a pre-film curry at the Lanterne Rouge – contact details in the poster

For one night only…..

The last few plants left over from the plant sale will be available outside the Village Hall. Please come and take a look and hand in any donations to Malcolm in Whitelaws (envelope under the door!)

An astounding £380 was raised for the hall from the plant sale alone. Thanks to everyone for their donations and for supporting the day.

Also, some beautifully mature roses are being got rid of from Dove Cottage near Garvald Grange ( the last cottage on the right as you come out of Garvald). If you would like them for your garden, please come to Dove Cottage and bring a spade.

This Friday 10th April, the film to be shown in Gifford Village Hall is “I Swear”. This is the story of John Davidson from Galashiels who suffers from Tourette’s Syndrome and the portrayal by Robert Aramayo was rewarded with a BAFTA. As usual doors open at 7.30pm and the film starts at 8 pm

On Friday 13th March, “Dead of Winter” starring Emma Thomson is being shown in Gifford Village Hall. A gripping psychological drama set in snowy Minnesota – bound to make you shiver. Doors open at 7.30 pm, Film starts at 8 pm

Thanks for the suggestions

Sincere thanks to everyone who came along for soup and made some suggestions yesterday. The worthy winners of the raffle were Ian McMullen. Norma Thomson and Chris Worsley. As a side-note we made a total of £220 for the Village Hall. The real gold is in the suggestion box though and we look forward to finding out what people thought.
