McMillan Coffee Morning

A coffee morning to raise funds for people living with Cancer will take place on

Saturday 26th September 2026 in The Stables from 10 am until 12 noon.

If you can help with some home-baking please let Ena or Freda know or just bring along on the day. You can also drop off at Ena’s house “The Green”, opposite the pub on the afternoon of Friday 25th September.

There is going to be a collection for Lammermuir Larder Food Bank on Sunday 27th September so if you have anything to donate you can bring along to the coffee morning.

Getting Ready for the McMillan Coffee Morning

The Coffee morning is going to take place on Saturday 26th September in The Stables.

We are planning a fun session of hoovering, cleaning and general preparation in the Stables on Friday 18th September from 10 am onwards. Many hands make light work so if you can spare half an hour or so please come along with your Marigolds.

And as ever, baking for the event itself will be very welcome on the 26th. It can also be dropped off at Ena’s house “The Green” opposite the pub on Friday afternoon 25th September

Garvald Village Hall Needs You – Maintenance Day

Hello Garvald, 

Once again nature has taken over at the back of the village hall. We’re holding a “Maintenance Day” to clear the weeds on Sunday 4th October at 2pm.It usually takes less than 2 hours depending on how many volunteers turn up.

Strimmers, rakes, secateurs etc. will be the order of the day. Oh and don’t forget your gardening gloves! 

Once we’ve cleared the area we’d like to have a discussion about how to replant this area in a way that allows it to re-wild whilst also being manageable for access and maintenance etc. This was raised as a suggestion at the Coffee/Ideas session held earlier this year.
