Spring is here!
For once, the calendar says it is Spring and it actually feels like it. What a blissful couple of days?!
The Hall’s Spring Sale is just over a month away. There are still a few small (£8) tables left so do let us know if you want one.
We’re also looking for the proverbial help, both on the day and in advance e.g. home baking. Either drop us a line here or see one of the Trust committee. Many thanks in advance.

Spring Sale: 26th April
Any more takers for the forthcoming table top sale? Let us know if you’re interested. Don’t forget to begin your message FAO Katy though …
Would anybody be willing and able to help at the event? We thought it would be especially nice to offer some face painting. Anyone a dab hand with the sponge and/or the brush? Do drop us a line if you could spare an hour or so. Many thanks in advance!
A Little Bit Of Everything …
Garvald Village Hall will play host to a Spring Sale on Sunday 26th April, between 12 and 2.30pm.
So what’s on offer? Well it’s hoped a little bit of everything. But exactly what will depend on YOU!
If you’ve got something to sell, and would be interested in hiring a table, please let us know. Fill in the hall hires contact form giving as much information about your offering as possible. And to make the admin easier, please begin your message “FAO Katy …”
Tables will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The larger ones will cost £12, and the medium ones £8. If you have a preference, again let us know.
With a bit of luck, all the available space will be snapped up sharpish – and by local traders. Just in case though, Thursday 19th March will be the closing date. And in the meantime, please keep an eye out for updates here.

Save The Date(s)
The Village Hall will be hosting a couple of village events in the first half of the year. Firstly, a Plant/Table Top Sale on 26th April. And secondly, a Jumble Sale on 28th June. Please note the dates in your diaries, and keep an eye out for more details here.
Survey: improving broadband in rural areas
If you’d like better broadband, please complete this online survey at https://eastlothianconsultations.co.uk/policy-partnerships/community-broadband.
A message from Kaela Scott, Local Community Planning Officer, East Lothian Council:
“Haddington and Lammermuir Area Partnership are ready to begin formally establishing evidence of demand and interest across rural and remote communities through this area-wide survey. The survey will remain open until the 20th February 2015.
Garvald is included in the list of areas that are unlikely to benefit from existing plans to roll out Superfast Broadband, and the council needs your help to gather as many responses as possible in order to look at alternative ways of improving broadband in the rural areas affected.
For more information, see the leaflet: Better broadband connectivity for rural and remote communities in East Lothian. Thank you for your help.”
Happy New Year! And thank-you …
New Year, old weather. Oh well …
Many thanks to the team who organised last night’s Hogmanay Hoolie. It was so lovely to see so many of the village in the Hall, especially all the wee ones. How did they have the stamina to stay up until midnight after all the excitements of the previous week?! The Jaggy Nettles were on tip top form, and the dancing was not too shabby either. Well done to all involved, it really is appreciated.
