East Lothian Council are current undertaking footway reconstruction works at Newton Port, Haddington from Calder’s Lawn (Tesco) up to Fortune Avenue, which started today Monday 6th May.
In order to comply with the current health and safety legislation, it will be necessary to close the road to through vehicular traffic during specific periods of the work, with the remainder of the work undertaken under temporary traffic signals. Pedestrian and vehicular access to the car parks will be maintained at all times.
The work will be undertaken in the following phases to minimise disruption.
Phase 1 – Three way traffic signals – Monday 6th to Friday 10th May
Phase 2 – Road closure – Monday 13th to Friday 17th May
Phase 3 – Road closure – Monday 20th to Friday 24th May
