Weather Warning Information – Storms Dudley and Eunice
Local householders are advised to take basic precautions such as moving rubbish/recycling bins, garden furniture, and hanging baskets and securing play equipment such as trampolines to ensure they do not cause damage to cars or property if blown over.
East Lothian Council’s emergency planning is closely monitoring the forecast. Meetings of the East Lothian Multi-Agency Severe Weather Group, chaired by East Lothian Council, will take place at regular intervals as we navigate through this bad spell of weather.
ELC teams are being readied to deal with traffic disruptions, fallen trees and property damage.
The council’s contact centre is open 24/7 – Tel: 01620 827827. Out of office hours – 01875 612818.
SPEN should be contacted if there are any power cuts: Phone 105
People are advised to take care if out and about, particularly elderly people and those with mobility issues who may wish to stock up with provisions and stay at home.
However, the public should be aware that the impacts of these storms will affect everyone in East Lothian and so in some cases response times may not be as quick as hoped for.
Free Horse Manure!
Residents of the village (and their human companions!) have offered free mature horse manure to anyone who may find it valuable for their gardens. If you are interested in taking some, please fill in the contact form, below, for guidance on how/where to pick it up. A loan of bags for transportation of the manure are available but it is requested they are returned after use.

Update on New Mobile Mast – Garvald
Power was installed to this mast last year. The best estimate for activation is late Spring 2022.

Triage are delighted to be delivering the Scottish Government’s new ‘Women Returners Programme’ across the whole of Scotland.
Our Review, Refresh, Return Programme will support women to return to good work or improve their work skills following a career break. It is delivered across Scotland as part of the Women Returners Programme, funded by the Scottish Government and administered by Skills Development Scotland.
Women aged 25 and above who have undertaken paid employment at some point in the past benefit from free peer support, CV-building, upskilling, and confidence-building before progressing back into work or further education. Launched in October 2021, the programme initially runs until March 2022.
The programme is tailor-made to each participant, addressing conflicting home and life priorities, via one-to-one or group sessions, online and in person. Emphasis is placed on navigating caring responsibilities and back-to-work anxiety while capitalising on past qualifications and work experience.
If you or someone you know might benefit from our support, please get in touch via our website www.triagecentral.co.uk or by calling 07708 473 437
