Village Show: Saturday 27th August – seeds for kids!

SEEDS will shortly be available for children to plant, to enter into the Village Show.

  • Under 5s: cress (for egg shell ‘cress heads’) – these just take a couple of weeks
  • 5-12: dwarf sunflowers ‘Teddy Bear’ – these need to be planted soonish (late April/mid May) – A great Easter holiday project

I will put these in a ‘seeds tin’ at the village hall noticeboard at the start of Easter break. Please help yourself.

Here is the Show schedule, which you can also find on the GHS page of the website (hard copies to follow):

DOOR DISPLAYS

Garvald was looking especially lovely yesterday thanks to everyone’s efforts with decorating their doors with bunting, produce and hobbies (including Jurassic display). And especially good to see everyone enjoying the sun and catching up. Here are a few pics – the full set are on the ‘Garvald Growers Makers and Bakers’ facebook group. I counted 30 doors – hope I didn’t miss any! Garvald Show will (fingers very crossed) be back next year.

Decorated Doors Day – Saturday 28th August, 2-5pm

In place of Garvald Village Show this year we invite you to ‘show’ your produce at your doorstep! Decorate your door however you wish; bunting, pots of plants, vase of flowers, basket of veg, bunting, jam jars – get creative!

Have doors ready by 2pm – there will also be ice cream tubs on offer for kids. We very much hope to be back next year with the ‘proper’ Show!

Door Display Day – Tomorrow 2pm

It’s the ‘not the village show day’ tomorrow. Feeling bereft? Decorate your door instead – bunting, pots of plants, vase of flowers, basket of veg, art work, jam jars, sewing – get creative! Have doors ready by 2pm and for the kids – a door discovery trail (sweets on successful completion – bring a pencil).
