Garvald Christmas Dinner
Invitations are now being delivered for the Garvald Christmas Dinner on 5th December.
It’s such a busy time of year that the Yester Primary School Choir Concert is on the same evening. The concert finishes around 7 or 7.30 pm.
We will be delighted to welcome latecomers to the Christmas Dinner so don’t feel you have to miss out on our traditional start to the Christmas season. We will even keep back some soup and save you a seat.
Just indicate on your reply slip that you will be a late arrival because of the school concert.
Harvest Thanksgiving and Remembrance Sunday
There will be a Harvest Thanksgiving Service in Garvald Church on Sunday 3rd November at 9.30 am. The collection will go to WaterAid.

On Sunday 10th November the Remembrance Service will be held in Morham Church at 9.30 am. In addition there will be a short ceremony at the War Memorial outside Garvald Church at 10.45 am, followed by refreshments in the Stables.
Everyone is very welcome to attend any, or all of these services.
GARVALD CHRISTMAS DINNER – save the date
The Annual Garvald Christmas Dinner will take place on Thursday 5th December in the Village Hall. Doors open at 7 pm.
Watch out for the invitations which will shortly be arriving through your letter-boxes.
Children’s Hallowe’en Party 2019
The Children’s Halloween Party is on Thursday 31st October. Meet at the hall at 6pm to go guising in groups around the village, then back to the hall for the after-party! All welcome.
Any parents that can help with supervising guising groups would be much appreciated.
Fellow villagers please make it obvious with a pumpkin or some decoration if you are happy for the little ghosts & ghouls of Garvald to visit you!
Milk deliveries restart for Morham
McQueens Dairies will be starting milk deliveries to Morham on Monday 20th October.
Only three Garvald residents contacted me but hopefully deliveries could start if there is more interest in the future.

The Christmas theatre trip is now fully booked for Morham and there are only four spaces left for Garvald, 76 people!
Eve’s Coaches will be picking us up this year, one from Morham and one from Garvald at noon.
Cost is per person is £5 (with Crystalrig Community Windfarm money generously supporting the rest – real cost is approx. £30 each)
If you know anyone who is new to the villages or a neighbour who might need a nudge to get organised, please do, it makes my job much easier if this is sorted well in advance. Remember, all must be residents of the ward.
A waiting list will be in operation so please let me know if your plans change or that you are still coming but won’t be using the buses.
