REMINDER: Final weekend to claim
Deadline for applications to the rural support payment is this Sunday.

Following the success of last year’s roll out which saw over 50% participation, once again all households in the ward are now eligible for a small payment. This payment is administrated by Garvald and Morham Community Council with Crystal Rig Wind Farm Community Benefit Fund in recognition of the limited choices available when selecting services to rural homes, including fuel bills, transport and broadband options.
The 2025 amount will be £150 per households.
Please note that the GMCC support is available to homes in Garvald and Morham Ward only and applications will be checked against the Ward address list provided to us by East Lothian Council.
If you did not apply last year, you will need to attach a photo of the address panel of your 2025-6 Council Tax letter, clearly showing your address. If you sent this last year we do not need to see it again.
Please note your data will be held as per Garvald and Morham Community Council Data Protection Policy. Data requested for Rural Support Payments will be the minimum required in order to process the application, used only for this purpose, and deleted after the project is completed. Our reports to funders will not include any personal data. If you are not happy for us to collect and store your data in this way but wish to claim the fund, please do not complete this form but contact us at secgmcc@gmail.com so we can help you.
Only one payment can be claimed per household so please confer with others before completing this form.

Garvald Hogmanay Hoolie
The Hogmanay Hoolie will return to Garvald Village Hall again this year with local ceilidh band, Clappy Doo joining us to provide the great music and guide us through the moves.
We look forward to seeing you all there for what is sure to be another great fun night!

Garvald & Morham Children’s Christmas Party 2025 – less than two weeks to go!
A reminder of the details of this year’s Christmas party:
Sunday 7th December, 2-4pm.

The ceilidh lady and her accordionist return! As per last year we will break for a children’s tea and again, if all parents could bring a plate of something to contribute to this that would be fab.
Santa has been invited so the plan again will be for parents to secretly bring a small wrapped present (suggested around the £5-10 mark) labelled with their child’s name. When you arrive please bring this into the kitchen along with your food so we can handover to Father Christmas.

If you can try and send them in THIS WEEK that would be fabulous – by the 30th November please.
And don’t forget, if you have a teenager hanging around who wants to earn some Christmas cash washing dishes, get in touch with Caroline at the Old Schoolhouse or Trudi up at Carfrae Farm shop. We already have our two lovely helpers from last year but the more the merrier.

REMINDER: Children’s Halloween Party
Garvald Village Hall is booked for Friday 31st October, between 5.30 – 7pm, for the Children’s Halloween Party.
The plan is to have a similar set up to last year: guising followed by a party.
Bringing plates of food so there’s something savoury for kids to eat after guising seemed to work really well last year, so please bring a plate along if you are able to. It would be really helpful if any allergens could be indicated, where possible, and be mindful of children’s allergies.
We’ll be looking for volunteers to help with set up, clear up and on the night so please use the contact form, below, to indicate if you are able to help out at all.
