A thank you from ELAR for our seasonal fundraising …

Hi there this is East Lothian Aid for Refugees here, we just wanted to say a huge thank you for the money you raised for our organisation over the Christmas period doing your Carol singing and Hogmanay party. It will make a huge difference to the refugees.
We have just come back from a trip to Calais, there we met the builders that will be helping us to give the stoves to the right people and help us to build them into their tents and structures. We also distributed 1.5 tons of aid into the camp and helped the warehouse sort all the donations. We will keep you updated on how the next trip and how it goes with the stoves.
Thank you again,
Lily

Ranger Hikes

A message from Sam Ranscombe:

Hi folks and a happy new year!  I wanted to let you know about a guided hike I am doing in the Garvald/Morham area on Sunday 31st January from 10am.  I have attached the leaflet with more details of the walk: Ranger_Hikes_leaflet_2015_2016 (see page 2)  It costs £4 and you would need to book a place in advance.  It is a long 9 mile walk on uneven terrain, so unfortunately unsuitable for little ones. Do spread the word to anyone local who might like to come along.

Best wishes, Sam

Gifford Films …

The 2016 season of Gifford Films starts on Friday night (15th January) with a showing of the Stephen Hawking biopic “The Theory Of Everything” from 7.30pm in Gifford Village Hall. For more information, have a look at the website here.

Happy New Year

A big thank you to everyone involved in the Garvald Hogmanay Hoolie, including the organisers, the band and those who came along and danced the night away. Thanks also for your roll-the-£1-coin donations which raised over £60 for the refugee crisis and thanks for the fireworks at The Garvald Inn. All helping our community to bring in the New Year. Best wishes to all for a wonderful 2016!
