Garvald and Morham Pantomime Trip
Some local residents are trying to co-ordinate a trip to Edinburgh to see a show over the Christmas period and are hoping to apply to the Windfarm Fund to subsidise costs – so they need to find out how many people would want to come.
There are two shows on at the same time in neighbouring theatres, the Traverse and the Lyceum. ‘White‘ is on at the Traverse (suitable for 2-5 year olds) and ‘The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe‘ is on at the Lyceum (suitable for 5+). The intention would be to run a bus and families could go to either show on the 12th, 23rd OR 24th December at 2.00pm.
White
“Welcome to the beautifully strange world of White. Full of birdsong and birdhouses, it gleams and dazzles and shines in the night. Two friends look after the birdhouses and make sure the eggs stay safe. The world is bright, ordered and white. But high up in the trees, all is not white. Colour appears. First red… then yellow… then blue…”. White is a playful show for very young children and is a perfect first-time theatre experience. Catherine Wheels is an award-winning and internationally acclaimed children’s theatre company.
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
“It’s a magic wardrobe. There’s a wood inside it, and it’s snowing, and there’s a faun and a witch and it’s called Narnia. Come and see.” This Christmas, The Lyceum is delighted to present C.S. Lewis’ classic tale The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Step with us through a dusty wardrobe and into a snowy landscape filled with thrilling adventure. Meet the majestic Aslan, the loveable Mr Tumnus and his fantastical friends and join their quest to free Narnia from the spell of the White Witch. A festive treat of music and song from the team that brought you The Lyceum’s magical festive shows The BFG and A Christmas Carol. Suitable for all ages.
Ticket Prices
Tickets for White are £8 for children and £10 for adults, and for The Lion, Witch and Wardrobe tickets are £13 for kids and £25 for adults. White is a much shorter show, so families would need to bear in mind that there would be some waiting about afterwards. All children would need to be accompanied by adults.
What we need from you…
It’s difficult to say at this point how much we may be able to reduce the prices of the tickets and bus hire using the Windfarm Fund but I would be very grateful if you could get back to me within the next couple of days if you would be interested in coming along and, if so, let me know what date would suit best and which show you would prefer.
Unfortunately, due to the strict criteria of the Windfarm Fund, we could only extend this invitation to families from Garvald and Morham – although you don’t need to have children to come along! Please contact Penny Short as soon as you can, using the contact form:
