Who can resist a tombola?!

Nobody, we hope as there will be one at the Garvald Spring Table-top Sale in aid of the Garvald Kirk, and its much needed roof renovation …

Can anyone look out a wee prize or two? An unopened bottle of perfume. A pre bikini diet box of chocolates. A duplicate DVD. You know the sort of thing, not necessarily a big ticket item but something somebody would like to win …

Caroline MacGregor is doing the collection and collation. Either drop your donations in at The Old Schoolhouse, or bring them to the Hall on Saturday 25th between 4-6pm. Thanks in advance.

O Come All Ye Faithful …

Amidst all the last minute peeling, packing and prep, don’t forget that there will be a formal carol service at 6pm on Christmas Eve in Garvald Church … The collection will go towards the Red Cross Syrian appeal.

If weather permits, there will be further carolling afterwards – head for the village xmas tree on the green opposite the pub … And if you’re all done, but too excited to sleep, there is always the Watchnight Service at 11.30pm in Morham Church. Remember to wrap up warm, and drive safely there and back!

The Christmas Eve Carol Service will be held at 6.00pm in Garvald Church, followed by soup and Carols round the village Christmas tree. The Christmas Eve Service at Morham Church will start at 11.30pm. All are welcome.

Wine-tasting evening to raise funds for St Mary’s Parish Church in Haddington

For those of you who enjoyed the Garvald wine-tasting evening, you might be interested in attending a similar event at the Scout Hall in Haddington on Saturday 28 September to raise funds for St Mary’s Parish Church, Haddington. Local wine expert Ian MacPhail will guide guests through a selection of five wines, including one sparkling wine and two Fairtrade varieties, with information and tips on wine regions, grapes and techniques for wine-making. This follows on from his successful night at Garvald Village Hall.
Tickets cost £10 including wines, food and music, with all profits from the evening going to St Mary’s Parish Church. Contact us here to be put in touch via email with the organiser, Joanne Allen, or call her on 811019 to purchase tickets for the event.
