Children’s drama workshops

MB Arts Youth Theatre are running some free trial performing arts children’s workshops on Friday 7th June. Places are limited to 15 per class so please book early via their website.

3-5 years class:
Our 3-5 year old classes are designed to plant the seed of creativity early on in your young one’s development. This class is perfect to help develop confidence, emotional intelligence and communication skills whilst your young one makes new friends and memories in our unique venue at Garvald Village Hall. A snack and bottled water will be provided during this session.

6-8 years class:
Our 6-8 year old classes are designed to develop creativity and teamwork. With specialised workshops tailored to develop skills in movement, vocals and direction the class will work to create short pieces of theatre to be shared with family and friends throughout the term. Our unique venue in Garvald Village Hall will also allow for our classes to connect with their outdoor surroundings and become inspired by nature at its finest. A snack and bottled water will be provided during this session.

9-12s class
Our 9-12 year old classes are designed to develop creativity and teamwork, with specialised workshops in Voice, Movement, Directing, Devising, Improvisation, Make Up Fx and much more. These classes are for 9-12 year olds that have an enthusiasm for the performing arts and are willing to work in groups to create pieces of theatre! The classes will be jam packed with exciting games and exercises that will aim to develop your youngsters confidence, self esteem, social skills and love for the arts! Making friends and memories they will never forget! Snack and bottled water will be provided during this session.

13-16s class
Our 13-16 year old classes are designed to develop creativity on a more advanced level with specialised workshops in Voice, Movement, Directing, Devising, Improvisation, Make Up Fx and much more. These classes are for 13-16 year olds that have an enthusiasm for the performing arts and perhaps wish to pursue acting and performance careers. The classes will be jam-packed with exciting games and exercises that will aim to develop your youngster’s confidence, self esteem, social skills and love for the arts! Making friends and memories they will never forget! Snack and bottled water will be provided during this session.

Garvald children’s concert 1st June

Raising funds for a new church roof

Please save the date – Saturday 1st June, 6.00 pm – 7.00 pm for a Children’s Concert in Garvald Church.

We are still very keen to welcome more performers or young people willing to help with tickets/cakes/posters etc. We are planning to get together with all our acts for a rehearsal very soon. Let us know using the contact form.

 

Haddington Community Kitchen

Community Kitchen Haddington exists to help reduce access deprivation and social isolation in the Haddington and Lammermuir areas, by providing delicious home cooked food to people and allowing for friendships to form.

It runs at Haddington Bowling Club on a Wednesday and Thursday from 12.30 pm and we ask for a donation of up to £4.00.

People from the Garvald and Morham area are very welcome and the organisation is happy to provide some transport there and back if required. Age or ability isn’t a barrier. People from all ages and abilities come together naturally. It’s a fantastic atmosphere and people are enjoying food and making friends naturally.

Sound bath relaxation session – April

There will be a Sound Bath relaxation session run by Kelly at Garvald village hall on Wednesday 17th April 7pm – 8pm.

Cost £8 – Spaces are limited please message to secure your space.

Relax and rejuvenate to the soothing sound and vibration of quartz crystal singing bowls.

    Sound Bath Relaxation Session

    There will be a Sound Bath relaxation session run by Kelly at Garvald village hall on Wed 20th March from 7.00-8.00pm.

    A Sound Bath is a relaxation session using quartz crystal singing bowls. Just relax and let the soothing sound and vibration rejuvenate you. Spaces are limited to 20, please message Kelly on to secure your place.
