Next Wednesday at 7.30pm …

… would you have half an hour to spare? We appreciate everyone leads busy lives. And that family time is sacred. But it is the Village Hall AGM, and it would be super to see a good turn out. What’s in it for you? Well there will be home baking on offer. But more seriously, the Hall plays an important role in this community. So many people attend the events that it hosts, and use it as a venue for their own get-togethers. Why not join the management committee and trustees to review the last year, and to add your own thoughts on the strategy going forward? We promise we’ll keep it brief and interactive. If you do have something to say, but can’t make it, drop us a line here. That’s not an open invitation to skip the meeting though – we’ll be checking the validity of your excuse!

Attention Garvald Makers!

Attention Garvald Makers! The village hall has had another busy year. Why not join its Trustees and management committee for the annual review? This will take place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 29th January 2014. Hot drinks will be served, with home baked cakes and biscuits. Yum!

100 Club: a final reminder …

… the first draw of the 2013-14 100 Club will take place on Wednesday evening, so please return your dues ASAP – if you haven’t done so already! This is a final reminder, for fear of sounding like a stuck record! Many thanks in advance …

100 Club: a reminder …

… please could you return your 100 club subscriptions as soon as possible? The first draw of the new round will take place on Wednesday evening … Please post into the letterbox at The Rowans, or drop off at 6 Burnside Court. Many thanks in advance!

2013-14 100 Club …

By now, all (greater) Garvald residents should have received a paper application form for the 2013-14 100 Club. If you are interested in joining in, and helping to raise much needed funds for the Hall, please fill in and return along with payment – either cash or a cheque made payable to Garvald Village Hall Trust. Both Hazel Clark and Katy Mowat are collecting, so drop off at 6 Burnside Court or post into the black box on the gate at The Rowans as soon as you can. The first monthly draw will take place in early October, and the grand £100 draw will be at the Christmas Fair on Sunday 1st December. You’ve got to be in it to win it, remember!

Free apples!

For any people new to the village, you may not know that the fruit on the trees in the Orchard (in front of the village hall) is for the local community to enjoy. So do go along and pick apples and plums as they ripen and please don’t let any go to waste. Enjoy!
