Happy New Year

Happy New Year! Wishing you all a happy, healthy and fulfilling year in 2018.

Thanks to whoever built the Antony Gormley-style snowman – made a great photo opportunity in the setting sun on Friday!

Christmas Theatre Trip 2017

Thanks to Garvald and Morham Community Council, a subsidised trip to the theatre was run on Sunday – an annual Christmas treat! Over eighty people from Garvald and Morham travelled to Edinburgh and the show, Arabian Nights, was great fun.

Carol Singing in Garvald

Carol-singing round the village will be held on Sunday 17th December. Meet outside the pub at 5pm, Mince-pies and mulled wine afterwards at The Old Schoolhouse.

ALL WELCOME – wrap up warm.

We are not raising money for anything – just carol-singing for the fun of it and the spreading of Festive cheer!

Please be kind and crack open your door to give us an audience. We promise not to stay long in any one place!

Sleep in the Park Fundraiser

Lorraine and Caroline would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who sponsored them to Sleep in the Park on Saturday night. They survived the temperatures of -6C and raised more than £1500. Lorraine’s nursing colleagues raised about the same again. Robin Bellamy and Conal McGregor from Garvald also participated and raised money.

The BBC reported on the fundraising event which was held last Saturday night. This mission to eradicate homelessness in Scotland is being driven by the inspirational Josh Littlejohn and his company Social Bite. His story is definitely worth a read.

Christmas Church Services 2017

Sunday 3rd December is the first Sunday in Advent and we will be lighting the first Advent candle at church. The Christmas Eve carol-service will be at 6 pm in Garvald and the Watchnight service at 11.30 pm in Morham. For more details on Church services in the coming months, please see the Church page.
