Happy New Year

A big thank you to everyone involved in the Garvald Hogmanay Hoolie, including the organisers, the band and those who came along and danced the night away. Thanks also for your roll-the-£1-coin donations which raised over £60 for the refugee crisis and thanks for the fireworks at The Garvald Inn. All helping our community to bring in the New Year. Best wishes to all for a wonderful 2016!

Ceilidh reminder

A reminder that the Hogmanay Ceilidh is starting a little earlier this year, at 7.30pm, starting with roll the £1 coin to win a bottle of whisky (this is a change from the usual proceedings – we won’t be playing this game at the supper interval).

Remember to book your place with Shirley if you want to come along.

Theatre Trip Success!

Two bus-loads of Garvald and Morham residents enjoyed a super trip to the theatre on Wednesday. We were transported door-to-door and treated to some magical story-telling and songs for all ages at the Lyceum, in ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’. Thanks to Garvald and Morham Community Council for subsidising the trip, to the Prentice bus drivers and to Penny and Anna for organising everything.

Church Services at Christmas

A reminder of Garvald and Morham Church Services at Christmas…

On Christmas Eve, the Carol Service will take place in Garvald Church at 6pm and the congregation is invited to The Stables for mulled wine and mince pies thereafter. Morham Church Christmas Eve Service is at 11.30pm.

Hogmanay Ceilidh – details

Just a note to let you know that the Hogmanay Ceilidh is starting a little earlier this year, at 7.30pm, to allow time for the band to set up while you find your seats and take your coats off. At the same time, you can play roll the £1 coin to win a bottle of whisky (this is a change from the usual proceedings – we won’t be playing this game at the supper interval). So if you or your children wish to have a go, bring plenty of £1 coins and be there for 7.30pm!

Remember to book your place with Shirley if you want to come along.
