Merry Christmas to All!

We thought you would enjoy this Christmas poem written by one of our local children. Thank you, Tilly, for letting us share it with everyone. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Best wishes for 2015 from the Garvald website team.

Remember Christmas and New Year

Remember Christmas and New Year,
What lovely times they were,
My Christmas stocking hung on the wall,
The bell about to toll.

Remember rushing down to the fireplace,
Seeing if Santa is really going to come.

Remember how the frozen light shined through the window and the frosty air.
Remember when the lights went on the Christmas tree.
Remember all the teddy bears and toys that I got that year.

By Tilly Bellamy, age 11

Children’s Christmas Party Fun

Today’s Christmas Party was enjoyed by 23 local children, who were treated to games, songs and magic from magician ‘Magic Ian’, party food nibbles and a visit from Santa! Thanks to all who helped out. What a lovely way for the children to start their Christmas Holidays!

New stage curtains in village hall

There are now new curtains on the stage in the village hall. These have been funded by way of the 100 Club surplus, so thank-you to everyone who has paid their dues over the last year.

So to keep them clean, and everyone safe, we have a request:

Can nobody of any age go on the stage (either through the door or from the front) without prior arrangement with a committee member?

Many thanks in advance.

Garvald Greetings Cards

“Garvald Greetings Cards” are available from Hazel at 6 Burnside Court. They cost £1 each, and are sold in aid of Hall Funds. There is no message inside, and they are easily adapted to use as a Christmas card for friends at a distance or for those who have Garvald connections.

Christmas Dinner

It’s the village Christmas Dinner in the Hall tonight, kicking off with drinks from 7pm. This colder weather is making it much easier to feel festive. Novelty jumpers at the ready!
