Please see the GMCC agenda in the attachment, below, for the meeting on Monday 31st March at 7.30pm in Morham Village Hall. All welcome:
Just to flag there will be traffic management immediately outside Tanderlane Cottages next week, starting Monday 24th. Its to fix a leaking pipe and should take 2-3 days. Locals may prefer to avoid this stretch of road!
Get ready for the next must-see production from Stenton Footlights
7-10th May in Stenton Village Hall
We have a special PUBlic Philosophy event scheduled for Thursday 8 May, 8-10pm at the Garvald Inn.
Inbal Arnon (Professor of Psychology from Hebrew University) and Simon Kirby (Professor of Linguistics and English Language from the University of Edinburgh) will lead a discussion about the similarities between whale language and human languages. You have probably heard about their work in the news recently; the published research is here.
All welcome as always!
Come and see the Haddington Community Choir in St Mary’s Parish Church, Haddington, on Saturday 22nd March at 5pm, and spot a few familiar faces from Garvald and Morham in the choir! Please see the flyer link, below.
Donations to the Lamp of Lothian Trust welcome.
The film showing on Friday March 14th is “The Taste of Things” starring Juliet Binoche – romantic, French, food-based, – mais OUI, s’il vous plait!
Film starts at 8 pm so there is plenty of time to call in to Garvald pub in advance to contribute to the Ukraine fundraiser. And even time for a pre-film supper at the Lanterne Rouge. And it’s still massively good value to become a member of the Club – £30 for 8 films.
I would like to let members of the community know that due to continuing family illness, I have decided to stop keeping hens and ducks and, therefore, will no longer be selling eggs.
I would like to thank everyone who has supported my venture over the past years – it has been much appreciated.
The birds will continue to free range on my friend’s farm near North Berwick.

Garvald and Morham Community Council have acquired a thermal imaging camera to allow local homes to be surveyed by a local volunteer and advice given on measures that can be taken to reduce heat loss. The expected result is lowered energy use and bills and a reduction of our communal carbon footprint.
To arrange a date, contact either Andy Duncan (Garvald) or Andrew Watson (Morham). We’ll then arrange a suitable time to carry out the survey.
If you prefer, the camera and instructions can be delivered so you can do the survey yourself. In either case we will review the pictures taken and, where possible, give advice on measures that can be taken to reduce heat loss.
There is no charge for this service.
