Two dates for your diary.

On Friday 6th January there will be a session in Gifford Village Hall to select the films for the coming year – everyone is welcome to come along and have their say.

On Friday 13th January there will be a FREE showing of “Mrs Harris Goes to Paris” to kick off the New Year.

Doors open 7.30pm on both nights

Christmas Eve Services

Carols around the Christmas Tree at 5.30pm on Christmas Eve.

Then the Christmas Eve Service in Garvald Church at 6 pm.

Children are encouraged to come along dressed as a shepherd or angel or any other character from the Christmas story – no speaking required, just getting into the spirit and enjoying the story.

Mince pies and mulled wine will be served in the Stables afterwards.

The last Watch night service will take place in Morham Church at 11.30pm. Morham Church will be closed and sold by the Church of Scotland in 2023

Last Sunday service in Morham Church

The last Sunday service will take place tomorrow, 18th December in Morham Church at 9.30 am

Then there is the Watchnight service at 11.30 pm on Christmas Eve but after that the church will, very sadly, be closed.

Any donations for the Food Bank may be brought to the Morham service or left in Garvald Church up to Christmas Eve.

The Film Club will be showing “The Colour Room” this Friday 9th December.

It’s the story of Clarice Cliff – a determined working class woman who breaks the glass ceiling and revolutionises the workplace in the 20th century, becoming a famous ceramics artist in the process. MIght inspire us to be a bit more ambitious with our New Year Resolutions!

Christmas Services at Garvald and Morham

Everyone is welcome to attend church services in Garvald and Morham over the next few weeks as follows:

4th December – Morham at 9.30 am

11th December – Garvald at 9.30 am

18th December – Morham at 9.30 am

24th December – Carols at the Christmas tree on Garvald Village Green from 5.30pm

followed by the Christmas Eve service in Garvald Church at 6 pm. Any child who would like to get dressed as a character from the Christmas story and sit at the front of the Church is MORE than welcome. No acting or speaking required – just getting into the spirit and enjoying the story!

Mince pies and Mulled wine will be served in the Stables after the service.

The LAST Watch night service at Morham Church will be held at 11.30 pm on Christmas Eve.

Sadly Morham Church will be closed in 2023 and sold by the Church of Scotland.

RSVPs for the Christmas Dinner!

Please could everybody who would like to come to the Garvald Christmas Dinner on Thursday 8th December please return their RSVPs and payment to Anne White at The Old School. If you could return them as promptly as possible and by the end of November please, that will help a lot with planning. We need to ensure we have enough Christmas crackers etc.

Remembrance Sunday

A short Remembrance service will take place at the War Memorial outside Garvald Church on Sunday 13th November at 9.30 am. Those who wish may then proceed inside the church for the rest of the Sunday morning service, followed by tea/coffee in the Stables.
