There will be tablet!

The Horticultural Society would like to apologise for and correct a big blooper in the Show schedule. Whilst there is no tablet class listed under preserves and baking, there will be one on the day. So please, get stirring all you tablet makers- and bring us your sugary treats!

Garvald Horticultural Show …

Schedules have now been printed, and should be making their way out to villagers. A digital version will also be uploaded here very soon …

In the meanwhile, tune into Celebrity Masterchef on BBC1 tonight to get some inspiration for class A35 as the contestants are also being tasked with making “An afternoon tea selection!”

Fabulous Flower and Prodigious Produce Show!

Many thanks to all those who supported yesterday’s show. It was a really lovely day, despite the blustery weather.

Congratulations to all the winners – you should be very proud given the standard of competition, especially in the youngsters’ categories. And a huge pat on the back to all those who took the trouble to enter, but didn’t quite get placed. Think on, this time next year…!

Needless to say, events like this don’t happen by accident – so thank-you to everyone on the Garvald Horticultural Society committee for their hard work. Thanks to the children and parents who helped on the Teas stall and donated baked goods to sell. Also thank-you to the large number of people to stayed behind at the end of the Show to help tidy up. The GHS will be convening for their AGM on Thursday 10th October at 7.30pm. If you enjoyed the show, and fancy getting more involved, why not join them? There’s generally only one meeting a year and new members are always welcomed – especially young ones with bright ideas!
