A huge ‘Thank You’ to all the volunteers who came along and made the day happen – you all know who you are! It wouldn’t have been such a success without you.
The warm sunny day helped with the crowds we had and thanks to them, too, for supporting it.
We raised a whopping £512.03.
Thanks again, everyone, from Anne, Norma and Freda

Thanks also to those who donated and/or purchased cakes and treats and teas/coffees. A total of £76 was raised for the Village Hall and it was lovely to see everyone enjoying their refreshments in the sunshine. A successful day!

Garvald Village Hall Update
The Garvald Village Hall Committee want to provide an update for the village on the hall and upcoming events and actions.
The committee are currently working with a range of building specialists to obtain surveys and quotations for remedial work required to ensure the longevity of the building for use by the village for many years to come. The works will be scheduled around regular bookings as far as possible and plenty of notice will be given.
There are five weddings happening in the hall this year which is wonderful as it is super to see the hall being used for such happy occasions; the weddings also provide essential funding.
The committee would also like to remind villagers that they are available to facilitate and support with any events individuals or small groups wish to arrange. Some examples that have happened in the past and some current suggestions are as follows:
Fancy dress party
Formal ball
Burns supper
Table Jumble sale
Village Monthly Sunday lunchIf anyone is interested in taking on arranging a Village Event, please do contact the GVHT committee. You can use the contact form, below:

What a party!
Well done to everyone who came along to the Garvald Christmas Dinner last night and provided such a feast for us to share. Special thanks to our VIP guests Jean Waddell and Dorothy Nisbet who started the tradition 50 years ago, and Hurray for Hazel and Father Mark who made the speeches. The whole event was masterminded by Liz Leather with a trusty squad of helpers.
There are still a couple of dishes and serving spoons to collect – Saturday around 1pm just before the children’s party would probably be best or else contact your favourite Village Hall committee member.
