Christmas Theatre Trip
To all Garvald and Morham area residents,
Anna Derricourt is organising another Christmas Theatre Trip, subsidised by the Garvald and Morham Community Council.
There are two show options, both starting at 2pm. The Lyceum show is ‘Arabian Nights’ https://lyceum.org.uk/whats-on/production/the-arabian-nights and the Traverse has a brilliant show, ‘Cinderella’ https://www.traverse.co.uk/whats-on/event-detail/1266/cinderella.aspx
Cinderella is a shorter show so there would also be time to add in a visit to the Edinburgh Christmas attractions. Also, there are other events on nearby for under 5s, a Silent Disco (12pm) and Shark in the Park (4pm). The timings don’t work for the planned buses but these events may still be of interest to you.
If you would like to attend, please complete and return the attached form by 3rd November to enable Anna to make the bookings (your tickets are not confirmed until after that).

Garvald Guising* and Children’s Party (*change to guising arrangements)
It’s less than three weeks away…. and YES – the Children’s Halloween party is on.
*PLEASE NOTE* – this year guising will not be ‘organised’ in the two groups (with distribution of collection sweets) as there are now so many children. So be aware that you may get a few knocks at the door…
ELC Star Awards 2017
East Lothian Council’s Star Awards 2017 will take place in December this year. The awards identify and reward excellence, inspiring practitioners and benefiting the public. Every year the number of nominations for each category from council staff and members of the public has grown. There are two constants – the pride and sense of achievement felt by the winners and shortlisted entrants and the rigour with which the entries are judged. Our awards reward effectiveness and excellence across all areas of our business and celebrate high quality service, creativity and innovation.

Garvald website hosting
Just to let you know that we will be switching to a new website hosting company in the near future. Please bear with us if there are any teething problems but hopefully it will all go smoothly and you won’t even notice.
Village Hall AGM
The Garvald Village Hall Trust AGM is on Wednesday 11 October 2017 at 7pm in Village Hall.
Come and join us for some cheese and wine and see a slide show of Village Events over the past year along with some historical images of the village.

Lammermuir Festival Concert Sunday 17th September
The Lammermuir Festival concert (at the village hall this Sunday 17th from 3-5pm) is sold out. This is great news and we are looking forward to hosting this fantastic music festival.
