PLEASE COLLECT THEM THIS THURSDAY MORNING when the hall will be open for the Post Office between 9.15am and 10.15am. Polling Districts and Places Consultation
In accordance with legislation, East Lothian Council are undertaking a statutory review of polling districts and places. The review must be completed within a 16-month period from 1 October 2023 to 31 January 2025.
The consultation period will run from 4 December 2023 until 29 January 2024, providing members of the public, elected members, MPs, MSPs, political parties, community groups and disability groups an opportunity to comment on the proposals. Any persons or bodies making representations should, if possible, give alternative places that may be used as polling places.
The Returning Officer’s proposals, along with a list of current polling places and a current polling districts map, can be viewed on the Consultation Hub. Please see the link, below. Copies are also available for inspection at John Muir House, Haddington and Brunton Hall, Musselburgh.
The following criteria has been used to assess polling places as part of this review:
• Availability
• Accessibility
• Safety, for both staff and voters
• Current electorate
• Projected electorate
• Number of postal voters

GMCC: Community Partnership Proposal for Ultra Fast Fibre Broadband
GARVALD & MORHAM COMMUNITY COUNCIL
COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP PROPOSAL FOR ULTRA FAST FIBRE BROADBAND IN GARVALD & MORHAM
Some parts of our area have fibre broadband but most do not. The Community Council is exploring the possibility of a community project to install ultra fast broadband. This will depend on government subsidies but may involve community funding.
SUFFICIENT LOCAL SUPPORT IS ESSENTIAL FOR A VIABLE PROJECT. Therefore, we need to know your opinion.

Garvald and Morham Children’s Christmas Party!
Saturday 9th December 2023, 2-4pm, Garvald Village Hall
All the children of Garvald and Morham are warmly invited to join us for a Christmas Ceilidh! There will be a half hour break from dancing at 2:45pm for party food and a visit from someone special – listen out for sleigh bells!
Parents and carers, please stay with your children and bring:
- a small wrapped present per child with their name on (keep it hidden and bring to the hall kitchen when you arrive!), suggested £5-10 price range
- a plate of food to share
