    Runners, please take note!
    Due to popular demand, the Garvald running group are now going out on a Saturday morning as well as Sundays.
    Meet outside the pub at 8 am on either one of those days (or both) for an invigorating 30 minute jog.
    Men, women, boys, girls, and dogs all welcome – the more the merrier!
  • Garvald Runners …

    Did you know that there is a group of runners who meet outside Garvald pub every Sunday morning at 8 am to go for a 30-40 minute run?
    We come in various shapes, sizes and levels of fitness. Since we started, several months ago, we have worked our way up from a walking/running start to nearly-all-running! We would love for more people to join us so are planning a social get-together in Garvald pub this Saturday night, 28th September, at 8 pm. Please join us if you’re at all interested (or even if you just fancy a night at the pub – that’s how we started!) Alternatively, meet us outside the pub on Sunday morning …
    Some of our group also run at other times throughout the week so you even if you can’t manage Sunday mornings you might be able to find a running partner for another time. Speak to Caroline McGregor for more information, or drop us a line.
  • Don’t forget the table tennis table …

    If you want to blow off some steam, but still stay dry this week, then why not have a game of table tennis?! All the kit is in the Hall. For more info, click here.

  • Zumba and Pilates …

    A quick reminder to all the fitness fiends that exercise classes recommence next week, Zumba at 7pm on Monday 18th and Pilates at 6.30pm (and 7.30pm) on Tuesday 19th.

  • No pilates on Tuesday 4th February …

    Unfortunately, Sue is having to cancel this week’s pilates classes. Given it’s half term the following week, the next sessions will be on Tuesday 19th February at 6.30pm and 7.30pm.

  • Get Fit in 2013 …

    Zumba class starts in the Hall again this Monday, 7th January at 7pm. Each session costs  £5 for adults and £4 for youngsters, and lasts just over an hour …

    If you fancy something “lower impact,” pilates kicks off the following week – i.e. Tuesday 15th. There are two sessions, the first at 6.30pm and the second at 7.30pm. Each class costs £8, or a course of 10 for £65 …

     

  • Need to let off some steam this Christmas week?

    Well remember that the Hall has a full size tennis table for hire! Why not challenge the (grand) children? Have a family Olympics, in fact?! Run around, safe in the knowledge you wont have to splash through surface water and into a gale force headwind … For more info, click here. And ping-pong away!

  • Shuttlecock Sundays …

    Badminton club is starting up again in the Hall this Sunday, from 6pm till 7.30pm. It’s open to all ages, and abilities. And costs £1 for adults, and 50p for youngsters, with juice and biscuits available. For more information, contact Caroline McGregor or Jean Casey, or contact us here.

  • ZZZZZZZZZZumba!

    You came, you saw, you tried …  So now it’s time to make Zumba a permanent part of your life! From Monday 3rd September, Amanda will be hosting weekly sessions in the Hall. Kick off at 7pm. Price £5 for adults and £4 for youngsters. Wear your trainers, bring along some juice and conjure up lashings of enthusiasm!

  • Dance Fitness – a free taster class in the Hall at 7pm on Monday!

    A reminder to everyone that a local dance fitness instructor is hosting a trial in Garvald on Monday evening, with a view to running weekly sessions. Come along and try out both “Zumba” and “Bokwa” with no obligation. Adults, teens and kids all welcome. All you need are trainers and enthusiasm!
