Thursday 16th November 7.30 pm
The GVHT AGM will be held in the hall on Thursday 16th November at 7:30pm. All residents are encouraged to attend for an update on this important part of our community. As the AGM is not expected to last too long we have taken the opportunity of following it with a presentation from Haddington Camera Club which I’m sure will be interesting and informative. Wine and cheese will also be on offer, making this a community occasion not to be missed. Hopefully this will attract a good turn out. Do please come along.
The existing village hall bookings secretary is standing down after a number of years. The committee is keen to recruit someone to take her place.Whilst this is an important role it is not too onerous nor consuming. The role involves the following:

- Keep the hall treasurer informed of monies due in the hall account
- Liaise with regular users regarding any conflict of dates
- Liaise with cleaner re cleaning schedules
- Keep calendar updated
- Open up and close for single use hires
- Complete health & safety check with new hires
- Inform committee of any maintenance issues and provide booking updates
- Liaise with ELC to ensure grass cut for weddings / village events
- Organise annual fire safety check
If you are interested in the role please contact the committee chair, Gary McGregor, at garvaldgary@hotmail.com
A very big thank you to all who took part in organising and attending the Village Hall Table Sale and Coffee Afternoon on Sunday afternoon. It was great to see the hall so busy with many people turning up to browse the great variety of items for sale and sample the tasty bakes.
The event was a big success and raised just under £380 for the hall! We’re sure there will be more of these events to come in the future.
Following the success of the fundraising coffee afternoon a few months back, Isla has decided to host a second on Sunday 8th October, 2-4pm.
We have decided to combine it with a table top sale. So, if you have some unwanted items that you have been looking to sell on, why not book a table? Tables will cost £10 with the proceeds going to the Village Hall funds. Takings from the sale itself will be kept by the seller.
Baking donations for the coffee afternoon would be very much welcomed. Please contact Shirley on 830270 if you would like to donate.
Tables for the sale can be booked by calling Sarah on 830334.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Join us in the Village Hall at 7.30pm for what is sure to be a really lovely evening of reminiscing.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Hogmanay Hoolie on Saturday. We hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did. And a big thank you to the Bass Rock Ceilidh Band who definitely kept us all on our toes with their quirky tunes and new dances!
