Great time had by all

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Hogmanay Hoolie on Saturday.  We hope everyone enjoyed it as much as we did.  And a big thank you to the Bass Rock Ceilidh Band who definitely kept us all on our toes with their quirky tunes and new dances!

You can see some pics from the night in the link below. Hope to see you all again next year!

Garvald Hogmanay Hoolie 2022

Local Outdoor Access Issues: Garvald to Yarrow Path

A recent visitor to the area encountered some problems accessing a path which had been described in the ‘East Lothian Life’ magazine summer edition 2022.

The visitor took the Garvald three bridges path up the bank to Stoneypath Tower, past the farm and up the road but returned via the path from Birks Plantation to Stoneypath Tower which crosses a field. At the Plantation end a wood barrier has been fitted with barbed wire in two strands to prevent access. They climbed a gate and proceeded to cross the field to find the access point blocked by another wooden barrier and more strands of barbed wire.

The public footpath across this field is clearly shown on the Ordnance Survey App map: Over a million ready-made routes to discover near you | OS Maps

Anyone encountering issues relating to the Scottish Outdoor Access Code (view here: What is the Scottish Outdoor Access Code? | Scottish Outdoor Access Code (outdooraccess-scotland.scot) can report them to the local access officer, Nick Morgan at:
